Emergency Assistance
Medical bills can be sudden and expensive. We’re here to make sure no pet owner should have to say goodbye because of an inability to pay for treatment. If you are facing financial hardship during treatment for your pet, tell us more to see if you qualify for emergency funding.

We proudly support our community of vet students from Hawaii both studying locally and away from home. It is our sincere hope that these bright minds return to Hawaii with their experiences and our foundation aims to support them in anyway we can.

Meet Finley
Born on November 11, 2015, Finley was a gift of love. He became part of our family on February 15, 2016 as a Valentine’s Day present. From the night he came to our house, our lives have forever changed. He was a bundle of energy that we never expected, but he showered us with love, excitement, and comfort. He made us a family. In fact, a very happy one.
In 2018, he met the love of his life, Willow, and became a young father to 9 adorable pups. A doting father, he taught his pups his magic trick, “how to be adorable.”
Unfortunately, despite his strong physique, Finley suffered from IVDD in November 2020. And as he was progressively recuperating from the surgery, he was diagnosed with Cushing’s disease caused by a large tumor on his pituitary gland in March 2021. Yet despite the challenges, Finley remained strong, steadfast, and determined to get better. However, due to lack of access to facility and radiation treatment in Hawai’i, determination alone wasn’t enough.
On Finley’s final days, he showered us with all of his strength and love. The night before he passed away, he gave us snuggles and kisses letting us know, “It was time.”
On June 6, 2021, Finley took his final walk at his favorite beach and watched the sunrise.
Finley was a gift to everyone; He will always be remembered for his smile. His heart is too big and he would have wanted us to share it with his friends and their families through the Finley Fort Foundation.
Finley’s Mission
We were lucky to be surrounded by excellent and dedicated doctors, therapists, and technicians who cared for Finley. They made sure Finley was loved and cared for. When it was time, they shared in our grief, sadness, and loss. We are grateful for this experience and because of them, we are dedicated to giving back.
In memory of Finley, the foundation endeavors to provide financial assistance to families who have pets facing medical challenges, help support veterinary students in their professional aspirations and provide a pathway to practice in Hawai’i, and advocate for veterinary clinics in gaining access to high technology instrumentation and treatments.
