5 Ways to Show Your LOVE for Your Pets on Valentine’s Day

The month of hearts and love is upon us. I am certain that we are all busy planning where to go, what to do, what to buy, and more for our special someone. But for us, pet owners, that special someone could also be our pet; As they say, there is so much love to give in this world. So why not share some of that love with our fur babies and companions?

Finley on Valentine’s Day [February 2017]

This month, we plan on spending a little more extra time with our pets. Below are some ideas on how we will be spending the #monthofhearts with our pets:

  1. Sign a PETA pledge - As pet owners, it is important to advocate for animal rights. We strongly believe that animals should not be utilized for experiments and product testing. So, if you haven’t signed the pledge, it would be the best Valentine’s Day gift ever. Join us.

  2. Teach them a trick or two - It is important to engage with your pet through physical and cognitive stimulation. It not only helps them to live a healthier and balanced lifestyle but allows them to foster a closer relationship with you. What new trick should we teach Franklin?

  3. Plan a special dinner - Food is an important factor in helping our pets maintain a healthy lifestyle. This Valentine’s Day maybe we can give them some gourmet dish, just for being too darn cute. Just this month, promise.

  4. Share a spa day - Who doesn’t love a good spa? Even our pets would enjoy being pampered, groomed a little extra, receive a soothing massage, and sleep in a freshly scented bed. We love family spa dates.

  5. Do a photoshoot - Well, this is really for us. But we think they like the attention too, especially with all the treats. And after losing Finley, the photoshoots brought those priceless memories to life.

Whatever your plans are this month of February, remember that #lovedoesnotdiscriminate. We are certain that Pope Francis did not mean what he said about couples opting to have fur babies than children; He got carried away. :)

What we do know is that caring for pets and treating them as part of our family do not diminish humanity; in fact, it elevates us all. The capacity to care for and love our pets as we do our families afford us the benefits of selflessness and community, and there is nothing more HUMAN than that.

Happy Valentine’s Day, Everyone.
